Avoiding Foreclosure
There are many real life circumstances that could cause
you to forclose on your home. You could lose your job, incur
medical expenses or experience other life-altering occurrences
that can happen to anyone, causing you to fall behind in your
loan payments. If you neglect paying your credit cards it hurts
your credit rating. If you neglect paying your home loan lender
then they will reposses yoru house.
You should do everything you can to avoid foreclosure. The
first thing that you can do is contact your lender as soon as
you know your payments will be late. Never ignore the lender's
letters and do not assume you are in a hopeless situation. Lenders
will usually work with you to get your account back on track.
You are allowed to delay payments for a short period, with
the understanding that another option will be used afterwards
to bring the account current. If your account is past due, but
you can now make payments, the lender may agree to let you catch
up by adding a portion of the past due amount to each current
monthly payment until your account is current.
